The MHCC Visual Arts Gallery is committed to offering a rich and diverse cultural experience to the campus community as well as to the greater metropolitan area. The MHCC Visual Arts Gallery offers people a transformative opportunity to experience art works made by regional, national, and international artists. It is our goal to provide exhibitions, which are inclusive of a variety of media and concepts. The gallery space is large and provides a great venue for artists both traditional and contemporary. The gallery also contains both natural and controlled lighting. Artists are also encouraged to create educational opportunities with our students, the community at large and its organizations.

Exhibit Proposal (400-word limit)
ELIGIBILITY:
Four exhibitions will be selected for the 2024-25 year (October thru May).
We are looking for artists of both contemporary and traditional subject matter working in all mediums. This is an excellent opportunity for solo and group exhibitions.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Work will be juried by the Visual Arts Faculty after the closing date. Selected artists will be notified by email prior to the exhibition and will receive an informational package, including a contract agreement for the exhibition and installation dates/protocols.
SUBMITTING ENTRIES (Please read carefully)
- Artist’s must submit a minimum of fifteen (15) and maximum of twenty (20) images to be considered for an exhibition. Images must be JPEG no bigger than 2 MB. Save each JPEG image as: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, TITLE OF WORK
- Include an image list (pdf) of all works in your submission with LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, TITLE OF WORK. Please number them accordingly.
- Artists must complete an artist statement and include a resume
- Resume, artist statement and proposal (optional) must be sent in one PDF document. Save PDF as: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME

- In subject line of email: SUBMISSION - LAST NAME, FIRST NAME
COMMISSION:
Participating artists are encouraged (but not required) to display works for sale. The Visual Arts Gallery will keep a commission of 25% of all sales. All works in the exhibits are insured by MHCC.
ARTWORK:
The Visual Arts Gallery reserves the right to refuse any accepted artwork that does not meet its display criteria and/or is not reasonably representative of the image submitted with application.
INSTALLATION AND TAKEDOWN:
Set-up is scheduled during the week prior to the opening date; all dates will be noted in the artist contract. Artists will receive an informational package including a contract agreement for the exhibition, installation dates and protocols for receiving images for poster and show cards/press.
PLEASE NOTE: The Visual Arts Gallery does not pay shipping to or from the gallery. Transportation of the work is the responsibility of the artist.

The closest parking lot to the art gallery is lot J. We recommend parking and walking from this lot to the gallery for the easiest access.
