Individual Mechanical Program of Repair Technicians (IMPORT) - Program Details
The IMPORT program will help you develop the technical competency and professionalism needed when working at a dealership or an independent repair facility. The program provides training at both Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) and sponsoring automotive repair facilities.

Enrolling in the IMPORT program at MHCC gives you a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and mentored training while earning an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology.Program Outcomes
After completing this program you'll be able to:
- Demonstrate safe shop practices and hazardous material handling.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair engine performance systems.
- Diagnose and repair emission systems.
- Diagnose and repair internal combustion engine systems.
- Diagnose and repair automatic transmission and transaxle systems.
- Diagnose and repair manual drivetrain and axles systems.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems.
- Diagnose and repair automotive steering and suspension systems, automotive heating systems, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform minor vehicle services.
