Basic Health Care
Health care is a fantastic career choice because no matter what is going on in our world, it’s always in demand. The Basic Health Care certificate offered at Mt. Hood Community College allows you to enter the workforce with the basic skills and knowledge you need for entry level health care jobs. In addition to basic math, science, and medical skills, those in the health care field need to have soft skills such as empathy, patience, communication, and teamwork.
The Experience
Program Details
During the first two terms, you will enroll in courses that help you enhance your foundational and soft skills such as empathy and communication. In the third term, your curriculum will focus on workplace skills by choosing one of four options: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Sterile Processing Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Intake.
Your future
This certificate is a great way to jumpstart your healthcare career. You can explore different options and become certified for an entry-level job.
How To Get Started
You can start the Basic Health Care program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
