Biology - Program Details
Biology is the study of living things. You will learn about plants, animals, and microorganisms. Biology is a very diverse field examining life big and small, from microbes to elephants. You can ultimately specialize in topics like genetics, ecosystems, evolution, and even cellular biology. At Mt. Hood Community College, you will start with the basics, and you’ll be prepared to transfer to a four-year university for further studies to finish your bachelor’s degree.

As a Biology student at Mt. Hood Community College, you will learn to study living things and understand the conditions that make life possible. At the end of your studies you’ll be ready to transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree.Program Outcomes

Courses and Curriculum
The Biology major takes between 91-97 credits to complete. For the most part, you can complete courses that fulfill general education requirements in any term. You should work with your faculty advisor to create a custom academic plan based on course placement levels, career goals, and full-time or part-time status. This degree aligns with the Oregon Biology Major Transfer Map (MTM) and Core Transfer Map (CTM).
