Frequently Asked Questions
Normally, the Criminal Justice Administration program takes two years of full-time study. If you're starting your first two years of a four-year degree, it's two years here plus two more at a four-year school. Some students take longer because they can't attend full-time or need help with reading, writing, or math.
In addition to an associate degree, if you complete the Criminal Justice Administration program, you'll have the knowledge and skills to:
- Explain how the criminal justice system functions and fits into the overall U.S. society
- Compare and contrast the various theories of why people offend
- Compare and contrast the structure and function of the federal and state court system
- Compare and contrast the various goals of punishment
- Explain the value of prison treatment programs as well as community corrections
