Video

At Mt. Hood Community College, you can earn a degree in video or a video digital assistant certificate. You will learn how to film and produce documentaries, storytelling, and commercial videos.

The Experience

Program Details

Our video program will teach you the skills to film and produce professional quality video. You can work in our state-of-the-art film studios using our high-definition gear and Mac labs where students can edit video and audio.

Your future

With a degree or certificate in Video, you will graduate from MHCC ready for jobs such as camera assistant, digital image tech (DIT), grip, boom operator, production assistant, or assistant editor.

How To Get Started

The video program begins during fall term. Are you starting classes in another term? Don't worry! There still may be courses you can start taking if you're starting college in a different term. Please contact the program advisors for details. Any student admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.

As you work to complete the video program at MHCC, you will work with a close-knit group of students and faculty. You will learn hands-on in the studio and on location, and in our Mac labs. The degree program will take 96-99 total credits to complete. The video digital assistant certificate will take 41 credits to complete.
