Industrial Automation Certificate - Program Details

Give your career a boost when you earn your industrial automation certificate from Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC). The certificate can be completed in as little as one term at MHCC. You will learn to troubleshoot and program basic Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Fuji Automatic Numerical Control (FANUC) robots in this program.

Industrial Learning

If you are currently working in industrial maintenance and want to get into factory automation, this program is for you. Learn all about PLCs and FANUC Robots, and how to use them in a factory setting.

Program Outcomes

After completing this program you'll be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of automation control systems.
  • Operate and program basic industrial robots and programmable logic controllers.
  • Interact with automated systems following standard safety procedures.

Courses and Curriculum

Courses cover programmable logic controllers and robotics. You must complete courses with a "C" grade or better, which you must complete within five years to receive the certificate. Please note you do need to already possess knowledge of alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) electronics, electric motors, and sensors.
