First-Line Supervisors of Office and Administrative Support Workers

In these roles, your daily tasks will include providing employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or resolving escalated complaints or disputes. You will also review records or reports about production, payroll, or shipping to verify details, monitor work activities, or evaluate performance.

Medical Transcriptionists

As a medical transcriptionist, your daily tasks will include transcribing dictation for various medical reports, such as patient histories, physical examinations, emergency room visits, operations, chart reviews, consultations, or discharge summaries. You will need to be able to distinguish between homonyms and recognize inconsistencies and mistakes in medical terms, referring to dictionaries, drug references, and other sources on anatomy, physiology, and medicine.

Insurance Claims and Policy Processing Clerks

In these roles, your daily tasks will include preparing insurance claim forms or related documents, reviewing them for completeness, and transmitting claims for payment or further investigation.

Medical Secretaries and Administrative Assistants

In such roles, you will schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, or medical consultations and maintain medical records, technical library, or correspondence files.

Health Information Technologists and Medical Registrars

In these roles, you will be responsible for compiling medical care and census data for statistical reports on diseases treated, surgery performed, or use of hospital beds. You will also design databases to support health care applications, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Medical Records Specialists

As a medical records specialist, you will enter data, such as demographic characteristics, history and extent of disease, diagnostic procedures, or treatment, into the computer and manage the department or supervise clerical workers, directing or controlling activities of personnel in the medical records department.

Administrative Services Managers

As an administrative services manager, you will set goals and deadlines for the department and prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
