Sociology
Sociology is the study of human society and how it develops, it’s structures, and how it functions. The Sociology program at Mt. Hood Community College teaches you to understand how societies have developed and how society influences us.
The Experience
Program Details
Through your courses in the Sociology program at MHCC, you will study the human social life, patterns, and change. You will also examine the causes and effects of human actions.
Your future
Through your chosen career, you will likely be looking at the structure of groups and how people relate to each other and behave within these groups. Once you complete your associate degree at MHCC, you will most likely want to continue at another four-year university to complete your bachelor’s degree. You should work with your transfer school of choice and an MHCC advisor to make sure the courses you are taking at MHCC will transfer easily.
How To Get Started
You can start the Sociology program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
